In our recent blog we mentioned a few of our favourite places to eat and the best activities to experience when you’re visiting us and enjoying your luxury South Coast accommodation… But there are so many great places to eat and drink in Kiama, we had to share our top 10 list for you in more detail!
Even though we offer Kiama apartment accommodation that is fully self-contained and has a fully equipped kitchen, that doesn’t mean you have to eat in every meal! The beautiful coastal town of Kiama has a variety of fantastic eateries just waiting for you to discover.
We’re diving into the best spots to eat and drink on your visit, whether it’s a light bite and drink with a view, or a sumptuous sit down meal – our beautiful seaside town has you covered…
This is my personal favourite and has fantastic food! Located only 250m from Oceanview Kiama and overlooking the Surf Beach, Silica uses locally-sourced and home-grown ingredients to show off the amazing South Coast produce. You can enjoy a quick bite and sunset drink, dine in for a leisurely meal or enjoy takeaway. They have a couple of mid-week specials on meals as well, so if you’ve checked into your romantic holiday accommodation in Kiama and feel like a convenient and delicious meal, this is our top recommendation!
Located on Blowhole Point, and an easy 10 min walk from your apartment accommodation, Diggies is open every day from 8am-3pm and at night on Fridays and Saturdays (check out their opening hours here). It’s an iconic eatery that allows you to soak in stunning sea views while enjoying all the brunch and lunch favourites, like eggs benni, buttermilk pancakes and delicious mussels, burgers and fish.
Only 1km from your luxury South Coast accommodation at Oceanview, The Hungry Monkey is a funky and dynamic cafe offering dine-in, takeaway and eve delivery now. Their menu is a favourite with locals, and the speciality brew – White Horse Coffee, will get your going in the morning! The menu is small but mighty, offering all the brunch classics as well as the best selection of gourmet burgers in Kiama. They’re open late a few nights a week, and the perfect spot if you’re hanging for a tasty burger and cold brew.
Every town needs a delicious pizza place, and in Kiama it’s Zia’s! They’re a family owned Italian that’s open for lunch and dinner, though check out their current opening hours as they’re not open every day. With fantastic traditional and gourmet pizzas, as well as wholesome pasta and mains, there is something here for everyone to enjoy! Best part is, they’re only a few minutes walk from Oceanview Kiama!
If you’re not sure what dish you’re feeling for lunch or dinner, then Olive & Vine has you covered. They offer a tasty and eclectic modern Australian menu that is sure to satisfy even the most indecisive. The casual eatery is only a short 5-min stroll from your apartment accommodation and with 4.5 stars on Google – they won’t disappoint! Be sure to enjoy a dish from their starters menu when you visit!
At the top end of Manning St near the Kiama Harbour, you can find this scrumptious Wholefoods Eatery serving up delicious breakfast and lunch options. Open from 7am, it’s a perfect spot for early-risers to enjoy their Byron Bay Coffee and fuel up for the morning. With lots of vegetarian options on the menu, this is a great cafe for those chasing their greens.
Though a little bit further away (just over 2km’s) the Art Bar is a perfect setting to enjoy evening drinks and tapas at the end of the week. If you’ve been enjoying your romantic holiday accommodation and want to finish the evening with a touch of sophistication, the Art Bar offers incredible ocean and country views alongside local and international wines, craft beers and delicious tapas. They’re open Thursday evening for dinner/tapas, Friday and Saturday for lunch and dinner, and offer long lunch and live music on Sunday.
Looking for the best Indian food in Kiama? For over a decade, JJ’s has been the go-to spot. They use fresh local produce to deliver a mouth-watering menu. From tasty classics like Butter Chicken and Lamb Rogan Josh through to their deliciously-surprising Lobster Curry. They offer Vegan options, as well as takeaway to enjoy at home, and is an easy 15-20min walk from Oceanview Kiama.
A short 5-min walk towards the Harbour and you will find this vibing Mexican cantina, complete with an extensive selection of Tequila and Mezcal. Enjoy fresh and tasty Mexican favourites, and if you’re staying with us mid-week, don’t miss out on their Taco Tuesday and Wing Wednesday deals! A great location to stop in at after you’ve visited the lighthouse and Blowhole point.
Located amongst the Harbour-side eateries on Manning St, Hanoi on Manning is the home of authentic Vietnamese cuisine in Kiama. Open Wednesday to Monday for lunch and dinner, they offer up an extensive menu that makes it hard to choose! Think fresh, tasty and funky when you’re enjoying Hanoi on Manning. The best part is?! Even when you indulge you walk away with that comfortable feeling.
And just as a bonus, because this one cannot be missed….
Freshly made on site daily, you cannot walk past this place without stopping in for a treat. Everything is just soooo good! Maybe you’re after just a coffee and light breakfast to take back to the apartment, or a scrumptious treat to go with afternoon tea before a quick nap… whatever way you choose to enjoy, you will not be disappointed with their selection of pastries, breads, cakes and petite guateux. They’re open from 6.30am every day except Tuesdays, and are only a 200m walk away.
